Gamera - Stomper

The friend to children and gaurdian of the universe has been stomping the earth scince 1965 !!

Gamera has been my Kaiju hero for a long time..i love his goofy 1960s and 1970s movies.. the Gamera trilogy from the late 1990s blew my f7cking mind !! The original Gamera the Invincible..is extremly eire and fun. Gamera is the original Mutant Turtle is prolly a very close relative to tOkKa. His human connection was there in each and every film.. and especially when silly and cool when he helped little kids. There was alot of charm in every single film.


..Gamera has been a difficult character for me to illustrate.. and for years now,every drawing i did of him i tossed away in disgust. I think i finally got it tho' with this illustration. (I think..) I tryed to 'relax' Gammie just a bit ,lean him on his tail and let him do a ninja kick ( ^_^ ) ..perhaps he's kicking one of the many villian monsters in the collage. Some of the pix i stole.. and some i took myself from screen caps from Gamera 3: Incomplete Struggle and Gamera vs. Guiron and one of my Gamra figures..look close..in some form or another all of Gamera's enemies are there : Barugon, Gyaos, Viras, Guiron, Zigra, Jiger, Legion Mother, the strange & twisted vampire creature;Irys, and even the Garasharp ..a villian from a Gamera movie that was never made.
